What do you think is the best acne medicine? What acne medicine do you use, and does it really work? I have really bad acne. I already use proactive, and that works, but i would like to try something else. Any suggestions?
I mean acne medicine that you can find in the store-like Clean and Clear, Neutrogena, etc.
ok i have tried cetaphil, acnexus, proactiv, and like 10 different prescription acne medications so i know what im talking about. a few weeks ago i had bad acne so i ordered acnexus cause the prescription stuff doesnt work. acnexus cleared maybe 25% of the acne if i had to guess. i had tried proactiv before that and it didnt work for me. then i decided to try proactiv again because the last time i really hadn't given it a chance. i have been using it 2 days now and i have no acne. im not bulshitting you and im not trying to advertise for proactiv or anything but it works!! I didnt want to get it because it says it takes 2 or 3 weeks to work but its honestly been 2 days and i dont have a single pimple. believe me its definately worth it. dont get prescription meds or anything you think is un-legit. So far proactiv is the only thing that works for me. If i had to reccomend anything else i would say get those cleanser pads that are sold at most markets. Those work pretty well also. If you dont want to continuously take acne meds than ask your doctor about accutane. Its a bit intense and you will risk getting rashes or bad sunburns but after you use it for a year it treats you for life. I will be getting that next year when i turn 18. Good Luck!
PS: Oh yeah, and all those rumors about chocolate and stress causing acne are bs. If anyone tells you that, tell them it is just a myth. Do some research and you will find that current researches say acne has very little to nothing to do with your diet. It is caused by dirt or oil getting into your pores in your skin and clogging them. So basically you can eat whatever you want cause it won't give you acne. I even experimented and ate tons of chocolate for a week and my face actually improved. Chocolate is used in many of the acne medications today. Also, just a tip, try to keep your hair from touching your forehead because somehow it causes you to get more acne. I spiked my hair up a few weeks ago and i don't get acne there anymore. And also try to avoid getting hairspray on your forehead because it contains oils that are bad for your skin.

Does acne medicine interfere with how birth control works?
My girlfriend has been taking this acne medicine called minocycline for the last couple months and she has been on birth control for the past year, but her mom loves to tell her stuff that will scare her into not doing "bad" things. Her mom told her the birth control only worked %50 because she was taking the other medicine too, is this true, because I dont see any link between skin medicine and yer baby maker, so I would think it would be just as effective. I just need to confirm this so she will feel better about the situation.
Ask a doctor, you should be careful about things like this, it is very likely it can reduce the birth control efficency. Im not scaremongering.....For example St Jonhs Work and Ecchineaca both affect the pill even though they are herbel remedies.....be sure and ask.

What acne medicine is the best? and what make up is good for your skin?
I am a teenage girl who has the normal skin problems. I would like to know what is the best acne medicine and the best make up that helps prevent and solve acne problems and that hides acne. Thank you and please help!!!
I really want to help.
I reccomend this site to get good information about acne.

Someone reccomended accutane: accutane works to remove permanently acne, but check the severe side effects it can have on you:

I have tried witch hazel and it didnt work at all on me. It should be good for minor skin irritations.
I have tried antibiotics two times. The first time I used it for about two months and my acne cleared some but not completely. I decided to stop, because is not good to take antibiotics for too long. This was like a year ago.
The second time I tried antiobiotics was a month ago, it was another kind. They were prescribed for two weeks: they didnt help at all.
If your daughter must use makeup it has to be oil free, because if it is not it will clog her pores even more.
I am currently trying the Clinique line for acne. They have a line for treating acne and the line also offers makeup like foundation and powder. I use the foundation and it has good coverage. I am currently trying their acne clearing stuff. My acne cleared a little with one week of treatment but now it has come back. I will continue treatment for a month to see if I obtain better results. If this doesnt work, my next plan is to try Pro-active.
I have heard comments about dieting my whole life and how some certain foods promote acne (chocolate, pizza, nuts, cheese...). I dont really believe this myself, because it has not been scientifically proven that this foods have this effect.

What other over-the-counter medicine can i use for my acne problem?
I just finised using Oxy and that stuff doesn't even work and i heard about it through this website. I have used almost anything you can think of and have to gone to plenty of dermotologist. Also, don't believe that Proactive Solution will work! I works for some people, but not me. I'm also allergic to Salysic acid, so that rules out some acne medicine.
i think it's time for you to see some skin doctor and take oral medication. i've taken roaccutane and it works for me...but however there's side effects from the medication. so good luck...

What is an effective acne medicine for face?
I have used clinique's acne medicine but it didn't work for me. What other products are there that can make my pimples go away? I heard oxy was good.. any suggestions?
I would say dont really use any medicine for acne. My brother used to have acne. He used some medicines and some of them gave him alot more. One type of medicine helped him but everyone has different types of skin so I wouldnt really give you that medicine. I have some cures that might work. Because they work for my pimples because I usually get them on my chin. I would say put some baby powder on it over night so that your pimples dry off and dont touch them. Touching them would give you even more and make them worse. Also, try drinking atleast 8 cups of water a day. I kept a chart and water is actually helping me ALOT. Also, try using a scrub for your face every 7 days to dry your acne off. It works alot. Also, if you use make up try using talc and oil free because oil obviously vies you acne. Any creams or moistorizers you use SHOULD be oil free. prevent eating alot of jun food and sodas and oily stuff. Lastly, wash your face atleast 2 or 3 times a day and definitly when you get up from bed because thats the time where theres most of the oil is gathered up onto your face. Good Luck<3 Hope you get acne free!! ( Try seeing a dermatologist or a homo patheic they usually help and give you some good medicines for your skin type!)
