How do you wrap the body for a slimming seaweed body wrap?
I have some idea about the recipes and the other requirements, such as keeping the body and room warm to promote sweating...But can anyone explain the actual wrapping technique? What do you use for slimming wraps? Is there something better/wider than tensor bandages? Where do you start wrapping? At the ankles and work your way up? Your arms? Chest, neck, hips... And just how the heck are you supposed to wrap your butt cheeks anyway?? I've tried it, and I can't figure out how to get the bandages in complete contact with the one area that women most want cellulite/fat control: their a**.
Any tips??
If I wanted to go to a day spa, I would. But there are none in my immediate area that offer slimming wraps...just detoxifying seaweed, etc. Nah, I want the kind of wrap that they use compression bandages for. The closest one is 2 1/2 hours away! And it costs $230. Plus they recommend doing a series of wraps. I can't afford 3-6 wraps at $230 a pop! Especially not if I can get a friend to help me do them at home. I just want to know if anyone out there who has HAD one can give me some pointers about wrapping techniques??
I went to a Sybaritic Spa seminar and they recommended wrapping in cellophane. You can use saran wrap. Due to the width of the saran wrap, you can cut it in half to speed up the application.
Start at the ankles, wrapping around and working your way up. Overlap the wrap covering up the center of your previous wrap. Make sure the pressure of the wrap does not impede your circulation.
Check this link for more details on wrapping. I hope this helps.

Seaweed body wrap?
I am thinking about getting a body wrap. Has anyone had one and can tell me the outcome. And if there is any reason why I should not get one?
I had one as part of a present given to me...a day at Champneys. It was the most fantastic experience. When I came out I was incredibly relaxed and my skin was sooooo soft, stayed like that for ages too. Don't get one if you get a bit claustrophobic as you have to lie there for quite a while however the benefits are great. Go do it. Treat yourself. It detoxifies too.

has anyone tried those body wraps to lose inches?
I have never met anyone who has used those clay/seaweed/kelp wraps to lose inches, they're pretty costly at the salon, so I was hoping to find out if you *really* lose inches/weight and if it *really* stays off before I go get them done... thanks!
ive never used those before, but i can tell you that they dont really work for long-term weight-loss. you probably lose just water weight. dont waste your money. the best way to lose weight is by diet and exercise, period.

where can i find seaweed in san diego?. Is it safe to get it fresh from the beach so i can use it on my body?
Please help... I can't find it anywhere in the stores. I want to make a body wrap and they told me to use seaweed. is there a special way I should be asking for this or a special store that sells it like Ralphs, Whole foods, Etc.
Thanks
Spa stores don't sell seaweed.
I start with some combination of chlorella, tinctured herbs, and coconut kefir followed by 8 oz of French pressed coffee, and either a quart of green veggie smoothie or one of these three with banana, pecans and go ji berries: 1 cup of steel cut oats, puffed amaranth, or millet.
I've never met a green vegetable or fruit that I didn't like, but believe all things in moderation so animal products are not excluded from my lifestyle! Since I am on-the-go from early until late 6 or 7 days a week, I pack my bag with steamed or raw veggies or some combination of vegetable, gluten-free grain, and maybe legumes. When I am not managing my time well, (this is where the non-vegetarian foods creep in) I grab a sandwich, soup or salad from anywhere that is not fast food. And when I am seriously stressed, I get a cookie or a slice of pizza! BBB: Why did you decide to take the Thrive in 30 Challenge? What are your expectation s? I believe Thrive is the next step in my process and will create more discipline in planning a variety of healthy foods for my week as well as spark creativity in the kitchen. Up until life got busy and some things had to fall away, I used to spend hours or an entire day in the kitchen. Since I enjoy food simply prepared, I easily steam some veggies and go. This program will bring in sprouting, unique food combining, and combinations to meet a complete nutritional balance.
Just from glancing at the daily food plans, I noticed a couple red

Body Wraps - Health Benefits
Body wrapping has become a very popular beauty treatment. Body wraps were first offered in spas and other beauty treatment centers as a way to quickly reduce fat from the body. Now, it is nearly impossible to visit a spa that does not offer body wrapping of some kind. Body wrapping has become a total body, beauty treatment. Some of the more common uses are to reduce cellulite, tighten the skin, loose inches and detoxify the body.
So what is body wrapping exactly? A body wrap is nature’s alternative to plastic surgery. It can also be a treatment for cellulite and overall body health. Wrapping the body slims and firms the human form in under an hour, reducing excess fluids and eliminating toxins. Usually, this technique is preformed by wrapping the body in elastic cloths or seaweed, which begin drying and have different minerals and treatments already soaked into the fabric. Then the cloths are tucked securely around the body and heated to create a thermal blanket effect used to eliminate excess fluids through sweating. After a wrap is conducted, bodies are slimmer, firmer, and the appearance of cellulite and other unsightly skin mars are vastly reduced. Some other treatments that might be included in your body wrap package are: exfoliation scrubs, mud masques or other skin treatments, massage oils, and anti-stress and other calming oils and treatments. Sometimes cellulite gel is added to the body during a wrap treatment as well.
Body wraps include many health benefits other than just weight loss. Some major benefits include skin detoxification, exfoliation, skin softening and improved texture, skin tightening, cellulite control, reduced appearance of wrinkles, reduction of stress, and overall improved health. Body wrapping can be quite expensive, as treatments generally range from $100 to $300; however, the health benefits are well worth the price. The high cost of body wrapping has brought about the appearance of home body wrapping, which generally costs quite a bit less than spa prices. At home treatments also come in many different varieties, including ones that come with a cellulite gel to target that troublesome area. Whether or not the home treatments are as effective as the spa versions is up to the customer to ponder.
