Which one is more heavy duty for dry skin with eczema? Either CeRave Lotion of CeRave Cream?

I think either one would be good to try. The cream will be much thicker in consistency. I just looked it up and it does state that is helps with eczema and to apply it liberally.

Another thing you might want to try is Borage Oil. You can buy it at most drug stores in the vitamin/supplement section. It looks like a big vitamin-e capsule. You pierce the capsule and rub the oil on the eczema areas. Also, take 1,000mg a day as this is very high in GLA which has been proven that people with eczema are deficient in. The oil from the capsule is very light and silky and is absorbed in to your skin very quickly. It is great for very dry skin also. I use it on my face every night and I love it.

You can do a search on "benefits of borage oil for eczema" and read up on it. I'm surprised that I see so many people with questions about eczema and they don't know about Borage Oil!

I'm going to get CeraVe face moisturizer.. but they have a cream and a lotion.. what's the difference, because my skin breaks out moderately easily.. thank you!

Dont waste your money. I bought it, and your skin feels good for about half an hour, then it feels dry.
Cream is thicker, more for drier skin.

I have extremely sensitive skin prone to break-outs. It's reddish in the t-zone. I've tried cerave hydrating lotion, cetaphil moisturizing cream, aveeno moisturizer, and many moisturizer products. All moisturizers seem to make me break out, regardless of whether or not they say 'non-comedogenic.' Any suggestions?

You can use olive oil. It doesn't take much and it soaks in quickly. Use a small amount.

ok so im 20 and i have mild-medium acne depending on the week. my dermatologist gave me a facial wash called cerave. he also gave me a pill i take every day called doryx. its been ten weeks. no breakouts but no improvement regarding the marks that were already on my face. i use neutrogena (orange bar of soap) in the shower and then i use cerave at night. right after i use the cerave while the face is mildly damp i apply a cream called differein. questions:
1. is it ok to use neutrogena and cerave at the same time?
2. which one is better?
3. Is it ok to apply clearasil on top of the differin cream at night?

What is the best over the counter treatment/lotion/ointment for eczema. I have horrible patches all over my body, and I get hives all the time. I have seen a doctor, so I do have medication creams, but they don't work very well. I already know about Aveeno, CeraVe, Cetaphil, Aquaphor, etc. Please help me find something that is less than $100.00. Thank you so much!

Most of the ointments, creams and medications out there for eczema only treat the symptoms and do nothing to heal the soars. My daughter has eczema and we had tried everything to help her and nothing seemed to help get rid of the problem. Then we discovered liquid Aloe Vera. Yes it's similar to the Aloe you put on your skin for burns...but taken internally it has amazing medicinal properties.

We give our daughter an once two times per day and it works amazingly well. Not only does she get symptomatic relief but the soars actually heal!! Feel free to email me if you want more info. drcolner@comcast.net
